Junior Welfare League Gala
You are invited to be a part of the 13th Annual JWL Charity Gala and Auction, Big Top Carnival, on Saturday, December 10, 2016 beginning at 7:00pm at Stride Bank Center. This year’s event will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, a live and silent auction, and dancing to live music from The Big Daddy Band. Tickets begin at $65 and may be purchased online at bit.ly/JWLGala16; private lounge opportunities available as well.
This event has become a must-attend night for many in the community and has proven to be a significant fundraiser allowing our organization to contribute to many worthy non-profit organizations and causes in the Enid community. Due to the kindness of local businesses and individuals, funds raised during our annual gala and auction have allowed JWL to disburse over $330,000 back into the Enid community since 2004.
This year, we have chosen to focus our fundraising effort on programs that provide basic needs for area families and those which work to improve the parent-child relationship through awareness, parent education, and emotional support. With funds raised at this year’s Gala, we will be supporting:
- CDSA’s Baby Basics program as they prepare to open a community diaper bank on in January 2017.
- Hope Outreach Parenting Ministry’s goal to provide new, safe cribs and car seats to all parents who complete their parent education training programs within their facility
- Youth and Family Services newly-operational foster program to provide basic necessities to families who care of children in their foster care system.
Junior Welfare League of Enid is a charitable organization founded on helping those in need in Enid during the Great Depression. Since 1930, JWL has been focused on identifying areas of need in Enid and improving the lives of those in our community through the giving of our time and finances. JWL’s legacy is one that nearly 700 women have helped build through their volunteer efforts and one that is known for the work of our numerous programs, such as the Charity Gala, Return Engagement consignment store, Care to Share, and cookbook sales, just to name a few. In our 86-year history, we have redirected nearly $3,000,000 back into the Enid community in addition to the countless hours of volunteer service our members have given through JWL programs and other community organizations.
